Swift SWCD Nature Day
Each year, the Swift Soil and Water Conservation District hosts a Nature Day Event for Benson and KMS 5th and 6th Grade students. The 2023 Nature Day was held on September 15th at Ambush Park in Benson. The Swift SWCD partnered with local and state entities to offer fun and educational lessons and activities covering a variety of outdoor topics. Topics included Glaciers, Aquatic Invasive Species, Fisheries, Water Quality Monitoring, Unlovable Animals, and more!
This year, our Nature Day had 16 stations with presenters from Swift and Douglas SWCDs, University of Minnesota Extension (Swift County), NRCS, Pheasants Forever, Upper Minnesota River Watershed District, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, and the Wildlife Science Center.
We would also like to thank our sponsors for their generous donations to keep the Nature Day going strong!
